The University of Dundee Faculty of Health’s School of Dentistry has created a new learning space for simulated skills training, featuring the latest technology for dental trainees, Nature has reported.

The room provides SIMtoCARE haptic simulators, acquired through Public Services Delivery Scotland funding.

Four of the simulators have been installed with another two with increased portability about to be installed.

Haptic simulators allow dental students to engage in multiple mixed reality training exercises.

Two practical simulators created at the University of Dundee have also been set up that use bespoke software for the development of tooth identification and indirect vision skills.
