First-time buyer Bruno Maia has purchased Dundas Dental Practice in Grangemouth, Falkirk, a three-surgery NHS practice with a patient base of around 7,000.

The practice has been owned by Denise Laird for 23 years, who is retiring from practice ownership.

Laird said: “I joined Dundas Dental Practice in 1994 as an associate and became a partner in 1997, going on to purchase the practice in 2003. Over the years, it has grown into a well-established, three-surgery practice with a loyal patient base and a reputation for delivering high-quality NHS dental care and private treatments within the Grangemouth community.

“Having enjoyed many rewarding years at the practice, I felt the time was right to step back and pass the business onto new ownership. I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved and look forward to seeing Bruno and the same team build on its success, continuing to provide excellent care for patients for many years to come.”

Maia commented: “Dundas Dental Practice immediately appealed to me because of its strong reputation in Grangemouth, loyal patient base, and the opportunity to build on the excellent foundations already in place. I am looking forward to working closely with the team to continue delivering outstanding patient care while investing in the future growth and development of the practice.”

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale. Funding was sourced through Christie Finance

Stephen McConalogue, associate director at Christie Finance, said “The dental market continues to be very encouraging for first-time buyers or current operators approaching the market for a better rate.”

Dundas Dental Practice was sold for an undisclosed price.
